EMDR & IFS Intensives
At Tidepool Integrative Psychotherapy, intensives offer extended, uninterrupted space for meaningful trauma processing and integration. They are designed to support clients in working toward their treatment goals in a way that honors both readiness and pace.
Rather than working within the natural constraints of weekly 60 minute sessions, intensives allow us to move deeply and cohesively through material that may otherwise take months to address. This format creates the time needed for activation, processing, and integration to unfold without artificial stopping points.
Sessions are typically 3–8 hours and may take place in one day or across two days, depending on your goals and clinical readiness. Each intensive is thoughtfully paced to support nervous system regulation and sustainable integration.
Why Choose an Intensive?
Complex trauma rarely resolves in neat, hour-long increments.
Traditional therapy requires time for check-in, orientation, and closure-all essential components of good care. However, when working with layered memory networks, entrenched protector systems, or interconnected targets, this rhythm can slow the reprocessing arc.
Intensives allow for:
Sustained EMDR reprocessing without premature stopping
Deeper engagement with protector and exile parts through IFS-informed work
Greater nervous system settling before and after activation
Integration time within the same day
In some cases, a shorter overall treatment trajectory
This is not “faster therapy.”
It is more continuous, more immersive, and often more complete.
